The 67 th edition of the Rome Masters tennis is in the attic with two Spanish victories in the field (Rafa Nadal and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez amazing) and many bright spots outside. He must be a transition year in terms of organization, and partly it was, but the final budget is extremely encouraging. Central first on the new stadium: Although yet to be completed, the plant has gathered praise from everyone, including players. Then there is the inevitable growth of the spectators, positive practice of the last editions of International. “We are really happy – said the Italian Tennis Federation president Angelo Binaghi – This is the sixth consecutive year that our tournament grows by turnover, attendance and quality.” The final data greatly exceed those of 2009: the paying spectators were 176,150 (plus 6 percent), with a growing collection of about 450 000 euros.
The increase is due to (usually) very successful tournament for men (122,000 paying 11.64 percent more than last year), while the women’s week did not go as well, also because of the rain (only 53 000 Pay minus 5 percent). But no time to celebrate: today we must already think about the next edition. For International will be the turning point: the Roman tournament will become a combined event, with men and women working together as a Grand Slam. The event will last two weeks, but only ten days on the model of the Madrid Masters (started yesterday with the victory and the defeat of the Schiavone Garbin, I learned today in the field, and Fognini Pennetta).

Already the official dates: Friday, May 6, 2011 we will start with qualifying matches, while the main draw will begin Sunday, May 8. In this way the International retrieve status last major test before the French Open in Paris, the highlights of the season on clay. Do not miss a tournament for the best players and for all tennis fans.
