Friday morning, Bernard Gerard, Deputy Mayor of Marcq-en-Baroeul visited the students .
As part of its parliamentary appropriations, Bernard Gerard has offered the class Balquet Patrick and Ms. Van Oostde to spend a day in Paris and the Palais Bourbon. The thirty students has thus made by bus on the banks of the Seine.
For Camille, it remains a great and beautiful memory. “Arrived in Paris, we took pictures of the monuments,” she says. Once there we went to the Cluny Museum, the Museum of the Middle Ages. Then the National Assembly, we first visited the hotel Lassay: it is a real palace, surrounded by gardens with fountains. Inside, there was gold everywhere! We visited the Palais Bourbon and we even attended a meeting in the House with members! We have also seen the magnificent library with over 700,000 books! On Friday, surrounded by Daniel Callewaert, president for the area of Tourcoing departmental delegates of National Education, and Ms. Valmor, inspector of National Education, Bernard Gerard has lent to the game of questions and answers with the young students.
Very curious and obviously interested in the mission of MP, schoolchildren have largely sought to elect and dialogue could have lasted well beyond the time allotted for the visit very citizenship and civic life.
To mark a milestone this day, students have published a book of photographs of their journey, entitled: My Class at the National Assembly! Many other schools in the region have also experienced the chamber, including through the Children’s Parliament. And after installing the new Regional Council, flower travel to the temple of the Republic.
